Katie O'Connor LAPC

I support individuals, couples, and families, as they develop insight into the causes of their suffering and instigate lasting change. Whether it is a particular struggle with mental health such as depression or anxiety, or difficulties in relationships of all kinds, I use a nurturing yet direct approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, and mindfulness to instigate healthy changes. I am LGBTQ+-friendly and Poly-aware.

Relationships can fall into harmful patterns of communication including getting stuck in arguing over who is right, withdrawing from intimacy, and being unable to get through to the other person. My goal in working with couples is for both/all members to feel heard and understood by each other so they can develop new communication skills that increase connection and enhance satisfaction.

I graduated from Arcadia University's Mental Health Counseling program in 2023, with a concentration in Child and Family Therapy. I am currently a LAPC working under the supervision of a fully licensed clinician.
